I started in 2005 as Technical Support Engineer for the company Econocom (http://www.econocom.com/be-nl). I worked there for 3 major clients of the company Telenet, Base and GSK. At first i was assigned as 1st and second line help desk at those 3 customers. I learned quite a lot at those customers not really about IT but more about customers. Finally i stayed at GSK as an external consultant where i would do the scripting for new applications at laboratories. It was there that i received a project that will lead to my current employer. I had to assist a SAS consultant with the roll-out of the new SAS 9.1.3 at GSK. I was not the easiest project since we had to install it following the standards of GSK. Since there was no career opportunity i decided to apply for a job at SAS (http://www.sas.com). I started at the SAS Support in December 2007. I learned not only SAS but a lot also about Operating Systems (Windows , AIX , Solaris, HP-Unix, ….) Databases (Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, …). At the Support department i specialized myself as an SAS Installation Engineer and even have passed multiple certification in this field. Since January 2011 i moved from the support department to the SAS LifeCycle Management team. My tasks are everything that includes in the life of a software deployment:
- Installation of SAS Software
- Configuration of SAS Software
- Updating the SAS deployment
- Customizing to the Customer needs
- Modifying the authentication to support LDAP or AD
- Migrating SAS Software between environments
I will add any new information on my career to this website as soon as possible.
